Spring washers are designed to help prevent your fasteners and fixings from tightening or loosening due to vibrations and torque over time.
The BZP (Bright Zinc Plated) coating provides some corrosion resistance and they are available in a range of quantities to suit domestic DIY one off projects and commercial use.
Where do you put a spring washer?
The typical order should normally be as follows:
Bolt/Screw Head ï Flat Washer ï Material being clamped ï Flat Washer ï Spring Washer ï Nut
If you are only using one flat washer and the material on the bolt/screw side is rigid put it on the side with the spring washer.
If you need extra reassurance that your fasteners and fixings wont come loose wed recommend you use a threadlock or nutlock product and/or use a nylon locking nut in combination with your spring washer.
